Yanshan University
Founded as Harbin Institute of Technology 1920. Department of Heavy Machinery moved to Qiqihar, Heilongjan Province, to establish the Harbin Institute of Technology School of heavy machinery, then renamed Heavy Machinery Institute 1958. Completely separated from HIT and renamed Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute 1960. Moved to Hebei Province and acquired present title and status 1997.
