University Clermond Auvergne (UDA)
Founded 1970 under the 1968 law reforming higher education and replacing former Université de Clermont-Ferrand, founded 1854 as Faculty of Letters and Faculty of Science. Became University 1896. The University, which until 1976 formed a single institution with the University of Clermont-Ferrand II, is a State institution enjoying academic and financial autonomy, operating under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Education and financed by the State. Former name : University of Auvergne. Merged with University Blaise Pascal in January 2017 to become University Clermond Auvergne.
