Aoyama Gakuin University
Founded 1949. Originally a Girls' Elementary School founded 1874 merged with Kokyo Gakusha Boys' School and Methodist Mission Seminary both founded 1879. The Methodist Mission Seminary and Tokyo English School merged to become the Tokyo Anglo-Japanese College 1883. Later renamed Aoyama Gakuin, it merged with Aoyama Jogakuin 1927. Acquired present status 1949. Graduate School established 1952.
