国立高雄海洋大学 (NKMU)

Founded 1946 as Kaohsiung branch of the Provincial Keelung Marine and Fishery Senior Vocational school. Became the independent Kaohsiung Marine and Fishery Senior Vocational School 1948. Upgraded into a junior college 1967 and then into an institute of technology 1997. Acquired present title and status 2004.
